Using the statistics I want to draw a site plan of what this refugee city could be and how it is linked with those who are digital refugees. The following site plan is the first iteration of that.
The idea is that the existing accommodation is used, the 375,000, with one port where refugees come in and another where they leave. The site is powered by a data centre, which is the main centre for those using an IOT VPN.
Questions:
Is there a better way to connect the physical and digital refugees?
Rather than using the whole island and its existing accommodation as the site we can explore new accommodation in between the two ports?
Is this a journey, are all refugees intending to be moved on? Or are some there permanently?
Is this project supposed to be linking physical refugees and digital ones? To create a bigger empathy?
What objects should be put in to add to this profile?
I also explored what kind of architectural form and language this thing might become. I am interested in marrying the digital connections with the physical accomodation, data centre and ports.
