To feed 150,000 new inhabitants per year will be a drain on natural resources. The vertical farming system uses no soil, little water and LED lighting to grow crops at much more efficiently space wise and year round.

This system allows for approximately 140kg of produce per m2 per year.
The average American eats 900kg of food per year, which means there should be approximately 6.5m2 of aerofarm per person in the camp.
